On May 18, 2008 Phantom Blue's guitarist Michelle Meldrum fell into a coma as a result of a cerebral/brain hemorrhage. She passed away on May 21 due to a cystic growth on her brain that had restricted the oxygen and blood flow to her brain, rendering her braindead. R.I.P. Michelle. The Iron Maidens just released a NEW EP in Japan on Powerslave Records called "Root Of All Evil" which features 3 studio cuts and a dance version of "The Trooper". The Iron Maidens new CD/DVD combo "Route 666", a Japanese import on Powerslave Records that features 4 new studio tracks, produced by Grammy award winner Bob Kulick (Kiss, Motorhead) and a live version of "The Trooper" featuring Phil Campbell of "MOTORHEAD" on 3rd guitar and a full length DVD of their live show is NOW AVAILABLE! Phantom Blue's drummer Linda McDonald won "The Best Drummer Of
The Year" Award Phantom Blue's Linda McDonald, Josephine walked away with "The Best Female Tribute Band" award at the 9th Annual "Rock City News Awards" held at "QTopia" in Hollywood, California on 11/15/2003 for their side project "The Iron Maidens". Phantom Blue contributed three songs (My Turn, Hangin'On, Turnaround) to the new Full Moon movie release "Witchouse 3: Demon Fire". Josephine contributed a song to the Jason Becker Tribute album. She picked the song "Baby's on Fire" and it was recorded with "Discover Card" commercial band "Danger Kitty" AKA "Metal Shop" made up of Ralph Saenz (also the singer for Van Halen cover band "The Atomic Punks"), Tip Petersen on bass and drum king Ray Luzier on drums. Phantom Blue's drummer Linda McDonald finished cutting tracks at Steve Vai's studio in the Hollywood Hills with Steve Vai protégé and Argentinean female guitar virtuoso Carina Alfie for her third solo album. Linda will be featured on 3 cuts on the album. Linda and Carina teamed with Charles Chastain on bass and the brass section from LA funk sensations "Urban Family Dog" recently to record "Becker-Ola" for the Jason Becker tribute album "Warmth In The Wilderness" which was released on July 22, 2001.
Phantom Blue's guitar wizard, Josephine has been the subject of numerous
magazine, newspaper, radio and television interviews back home in
Indonesia. A feature in the Indonesian COSMOPOLITAN magazine "Fun,
Fearless Female" seems to have kicked off the media frenzy back
